Commissioned by Katrina Munro, Head of Design at The Royal Collection, a pastiche illustration project to produce paintings of Buckingham Palace in the style of Claude Lorraine, this then developed into designing of the Rococo setting and the total design of the porcelain set.
Research was done through drawing and photography at the Victoria and Albert Museum Ceramics Collection as well as the Ceramics Collection at Buckingham Palace.
The Gardens Collection was produced in 2011. This was followed the following year with a commission to produce a Buckingham Palace image for a children’s tankard to celebrate the 2012 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee - the illustration was applied to the tankard, bars of chocolate, jigsaws and a money box.
Two other illustrations have also been produced of the facade of Buckingham Palace, in preparation for other products in the future.
Quite a departure from the normal range of work but an education in how to produce illustrations to be applied to porcelain.
